Director of Facilities
The Gettysburg Area School District is seeking a highly motivated Director of Facilities to provide administration and direction of services related to custodial, maintenance, and grounds operations for the physical plant of the District, including: coordinating activities with all building administrators to ensure a high-quality program that strongly supports the educational mission of the District, promoting positive public relations through a variety of methods, and implementing those initiatives through the custodial, maintenance and grounds staff. The successful candidate will maintain current and appropriate knowledge of various building systems, environmental and other legal compliance matters, construction and maintenance methods, and appropriate facility-related software systems. Responsibilities will also include District-wide coordination of safety and security activities, including leading the Safety and Security Committee. Experience with multi-year capital planning and construction projects in the public school arena will strengthen candidacy.
A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred with facility management, personnel management,or related field experience. A minimum of ten years demonstrated experience in facilities management. Direct public school facilities management experience preferred. Other qualifications may be appropriate and acceptable.
