Child Accounting Accountant
Purpose of Position
- Perform child accounting functions for the District. Reconciling and balancing student membership fiscal records and monitoring student membership fiscal transactions.
- Track and maintain student membership related expenditures and budgetary control accounts.
- Prepare student membership related fiscal balances and assist in preparation of interim financial reports as requested.
- Maintain a general ledger for all student membership related fiscal transactions.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of student membership related fiscal transactions and other data.
- Prepare and enter the data for student membership and attendance as required for PIMS reporting, to include tracking for outplacement educational entities, inpatient and partial hospitalizations, charter schools (brick & mortar and cyber), vocational technical schools, alternative programs and AEDY programs, Special Education outplacement programs, foster care student placements and CRR Host Homes, non-resident student placements paid by their outside resident school districts, and all court and agency placements.
- Prepare documentation for payment of student membership related fiscal transactions.
- Review and verify student membership budget entries for the correct application of accounting principles.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:
- Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft EXCEL, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint are essential.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Possess good math, language, proofreading and organizational skills.

Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of twelve (12) credits in accounting OR Associates Degree with a minimum of twelve (12) credits in accounting and three (3) years satisfactory experience as an accountant.
$23.00 per hour -- In accordance with the AFSCME Agreement |
