Facilities Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift, Tuesday-Saturday)
A vacancy exists for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to work at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit in the Office of Facilities and Operations! The 2nd Shift Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing work on Tuesday to Saturdays in the following areas: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, carpentry work, cleaning, grounds maintenance, and/or repair and construction of equipment and structures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspects facilities, systems, and their components for the purpose of identifying necessary repairs to HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of Building Automated Systems (BAS)
- Conduct facilities repairs including but not limited to building furniture, constructing office walls and ceilings, hanging doors, finishing drywall, installing windows, maintaining, and repairing roofs, and installing flooring.
- Install, maintain, and repair all electrical power and lighting systems in facility per National Electrical Safety Code.
- Install, maintain, and repair all plumbing and fixtures in the facility per National Standard Plumbing Code.
- Program, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC and pneumatic control systems.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Assist in monitoring and training of summer maintenance employees.
- Assist with scheduling routine maintenance for maintenance-operated vehicles.
- Clean building (offices, meeting rooms, classrooms, lavatories, reception area, and closets). Cleaning will include vacuuming; wet and dry mopping floors; dusting; scrubbing lavatories; disinfecting furniture, walls, and floors in IU owned and operated buildings; and washing windows.
- Empty trashcans on daily basis and place trash in appropriate container per the recycling procedures and resupply rooms as needed.
- Moves conference center furniture and completes event set-ups as needed.
- Mow and trim grass, sweep and clean walkways, and ensure that outside premises and building entrances are clean and neat.
- Plow and shovel snow and salt parking lot as needed.
- Assemble, repair, and install instructional and non-instructional equipment as assigned.
- Strip and re-wax floors; shampoo rugs; scrub walls, windows and desks as assigned.
- Paint indoors and outdoors as necessary.
- Respond to emergency requests
- Open/close facility and monitor alarm operations. Answer emergency calls due to alarm activation as necessary.
- Project a positive image of the IU and its programs and services.
- Serve as a back up to other staff members and help them with tasks when deadlines require.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is located at 2 W. Lafayette St. Norristown, PA 19401.
Work Schedule:
Tuesday-Saturday, 7 hours/day (2nd Shift), 12 months (260-262 days/year)

Qualifications:
