Benefits Specialist
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares and processes all benefits enrollment information accurately and within demanding time constraints in accordance with established policies, procedures and practices.
- Understands and is able to process and solve problems relating to employee benefits, including health benefits, Workers’ Compensation, COBRA, and health insurance billing.
- Computes payroll deductions related to health insurance co-pays & necessary billing.
- Responsible for COBRA and Retiree health insurance payments & billing.
- Prepares accurate and detailed reports and provides information which assists the Human Resource Director in a variety of Human Resource planning and decision making activities.
- Answers phones, prepares written correspondence to respond to routine Human Resource questions.
- Schedules appointments and meets with district employees, employee candidates and ex-employees or re-directs them to appropriate resources.
- Collaborates and effectively communicates with administrators, other school district professional and support staff, external agencies and Human Resource vendors regarding district Human Resources matters.
- Maintains a high degree of accuracy,integrity and confidentiality with all office records and files.
