Executive Director
The Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit Board of Directors is seeking an exceptional
Leader to serve as its next Executive Director. CLIU is a service agency whose two-county footprint includes fourteen diverse school districts and two career and technical schools. CLIU facilitates inter-district cooperation, provides an array of educational, business, technical, and administrative services to schools, and functions as a link between the Pennsylvania Department of Education and school districts.
CLIU is a complex organization that perseveres to help children learn by designing systems, programs and frameworks that embrace innovation and creativity. CLIU has a total budget of $124,333,361 which is comprised of 36 individual program budgets. CLIU serves over 5,000 children and employs approximately 1000 employees to carry out its services. The next Executive Director must embrace, evolve, and lead these systems for accountability, sustainability, development, and growth which will enable the organization to strategize, problem solve and respond.
The Board of Directors is seeking a
Leader who exhibits the ability to perform multiple, complex, and technical tasks, interpersonal aptitude, critical thinking, logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, professional decisions which align with the CLIU’s mission, goals, and strategic/comprehensive planning, resiliency in the face of change, financial strategic leadership and a commitment to accurate, transparent, and timely communication to stakeholders.
Candidates must possess at a minimum five years of administrative experience including increasing levels of responsibility, certification as an Intermediate Unit Executive Director or PA Superintendent’s Letter of eligibility as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Master’s Degree required and a Doctorate Degree, preferred. Central Office Experience Preferred.
Target date for employment is August 1, 2023, with expected candidate approval May 2023.
