Position Information

The Dallastown Area School District is seeking a highly-motivated individual to join our team as the Director of Accounting Services.
 
The Dallastown Area School District is a premiere School district, located in South-Central Pennsylvania.  With an annual budget of approximately $125 million dollars, we have annual enrollment of more than 6400 students (k-12), across eight (8) school buildings.  Our staff of more than 740 employees are dedicated to “Inspiring and creating pathways for student success”.
 
In this position, you will be responsible for :

• Directing the day-to-day activities with payroll and fiscal recording, accounts payables/receivables, food service, and tax administration
• Posting transactions, reconciling bank statements and balance sheet accounts, and producing clear and accurate reports for the Board of School Directors
• Managing banking and investment services to include the monitoring of cash flow to ensure maximum earnings
• Preparing all arrangements and reports for the annual audit
• Administering procurement credit card program
• Managing and reporting for district grants and federal programs to ensure compliance
• Ensuring the presence of and adherence to internal controls
• Overseeing our schools' building and activity funds
• Assist with General Obligation Notes and/or Bonds when necessary
• Assist with compiling accurate data for the annual budgeting process and prepare financial projections
• Write and/or update policies and procedures when there are changes to financial laws and regulations or internal processes
• Maintaining professional accreditations

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business required
• CPA Certification is preferred by not required
• Accounting experience in in a public accounting or auditing is desired
• Accounting experience in an educational setting is helpful
• Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office with extensive knowledge of Excel and Outlook
• Experience working with financial management software programs specifically CSIU
