The Business Manager/Supervisor of Human Resources reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/Assistant to the Superintendent. The Business Manager/Supervisor of Human Resources shall assist the CFO in the development and implementation of all business office functions including accounting, auditing, and budgetary control efficiently and effectively
and shall oversee all functions related to human resources including planning and coordination of human resource functions. |

Requirements for the Position:
1. Educational Background
a. bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or business administration
b. Specific training focusing in the area of human relations
2. Experience Level
a. Preferably a minimum of five years’ experience in school business office/strong accounting and bookkeeping experience
b. Demonstrated competence in the use of computer related programs (ie excel, web-based accounting systems, Google)
c. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find acceptable and appropriate

Major Responsibilities:
1. Accounting
2. Journal Entries
3. Fund/Account Reconciliations
4. Internal/External Auditing
5. State/Federal Reporting
6. Administration of Human Resource functions in compliance with applicable law and
collective bargaining agreements
7. Supervision of staff as assigned
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Perform all balance sheet account reconciliations and journal entries needed
2. Assist CFO in providing information and operations needed to maintain budget areas
and provide fiscal controls
3. Prepare federal projects quarterly, fiscal, and expenditure reports. Maintain record of
receipts and expenditures as required under program.
4. Assist in the preparation of local, state and federal reports (e.g. transportation, food
services, SHARRS, tuition, etc.)
5. Invoicing for tuition, overpays, etc.
6. Preparation of various schedules and data gathering for budget development
7. Perform internal auditing of district cash accounts, revenues, and expenditures
8. Coordinate preparation for audits, prepare financial records for review, and provide
assistance to independent and Auditor General’s office auditors.
9. Prepare and initiate month and year-end procedures
10. Prepare Treasury Package reports for school board
11. Assist CFO in the supervision and evaluation of all District Office employees
12. Responsible for district implementation of state and national health care legislation
including employee tracking, notifications, and applicable reporting requirements
associated with the Act.
13. Advise the Superintendent regarding applicant suitability under the law, district
policy, and background checks.
14. Complete surveys and reports regarding staffing, benefits and related topics.
15. Assist employees, residents, and any other individuals having questions or concerns
related to the school district.
16. Other duties as assigned by cabinet level administration |
