Description:
The Highlands School District is seeking a Director of Business Services to manage fiscal activities and operations and lead a team of administrative support professionals and professional staff in integrating business-related services with all district operations.The successful applicant must be knowledgeable in budget, financial planning and budget forecasting, cash management, federal and state reporting requirements related to school funding, fund accounting, bidding, negotiations, facilities, school construction, be knowledgeable in child accounting, health care, insurance, PSERS retirement, grant management and reporting and technology applications for management and auditing requirements.Responsibilities include overall payroll, employee benefits, purchasing, insurance, investments accounting, oversight of cafeteria management, act as the Chairperson for a certified safety committee and act as the district’s Right to Know Officer.Must be familiar with the Skyward accounting software program.Experience in school business administration is required.A Bachelor’s Degree is required.Master’s Degree, CPA or evidence of advanced training in school business management is strongly preferred.The applicant must possess strong interpersonal skills, act with integrity, serve and contribute to the administrative team and be able to lead a team in support of business office functions.Highlands School District is located in Southwestern Pennsylvania and is comprised of the municipalities of Fawn Township, Harrison Township, Brackenridge Borough and Tarentum Borough.These four communities offer a diverse mixture of urban and rural residential areas.The district maintains four schools; the Early Childhood Center (Pre-K and Kindergarten), the Elementary School (Grades 1 through 4), the Middle School (Grades 5 through 8) and the High School (Grades 9 through 12).
