Assistant Program Administrator – Transportation
The Berks County Intermediate Unit is seeking a dynamic professional to be responsible to assist with the development, direction, and administration all transportation services to districts served by the BCIU.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required. Advanced Degree in Business Administration or Management desired.
- PASBO Certificate of Enhanced Qualifications – Transportation desired.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in transportation service operations in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
- Possess and successfully demonstrate managerial skills to include but limited to good judgement, ability to plan effectively, organizational skills and ability to work under extreme pressure.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local school bus laws and mandates concerning school vehicles.
- Current, valid Red Cross First Aid Course and CPR Certificate.
- Ability to direct pupil transportation personnel.
- Geographical knowledge of Berks County and surrounding areas, including locations of approved private schools which Berks County students may attend.
- Valid Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), with school bus and passenger endorsements desired.
- Valid Pennsylvania Department of Transportation School Bus Instructor Coordinator certificate desired.
- Ability to interface effectively with all stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff and the general public.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
