This is a full-time, exempt position. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for the administration and performance of the financial affairs of the entire organization, including the following: directly supervises and manages the employees and services of the Business Office; reviews, recommends, and, in specific cases, approves the purchase and professional service contracts entered into by the organization to provide services, supplies, utilities, repairs, maintenance and consultation; prepares accurate funding and other special reports as well as completes special projects requested by the PA Department of Education (PDE) and Bureau of Special Education; prepares under the CEO’s direction, oral and written reports for the Board as needed; attends meetings of the Board on an as needed basis as determined by the CEO; and, assists and communicates with the CEO regarding the Board Finance and Audit Committees to prepare agendas, materials, special topic presentations, education materials, third party reporting, and other items necessary for the Committees to perform in a fiduciary manner. The CFO will function as Executive Sponsor of the Board’s finance and audit committees.
The CFO must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in accounting and fiscal management as well as managing a team of finance professionals. A Master’s Degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly preferred.
The Sign Language Proficiency Interview for the position is “Intermediate.” The minimum level accepted at
hire is “No Functional Skills” Successful hires will commit to learning American Sign Language and reach
“Intermediate” level on or before year 4.
PA Criminal Background, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Clearance required. Physical, TB and Drug Screen also required.
