School Business Manager
We are looking for an experienced School Business Manager who will oversee all of the functions of the Spectrum Charter School Business Office and manage facilities for a small public charter school for special needs students. The perfect candidate possesses a four-year degree in business, finance or related field and has extensive experience in school-based budgeting. A general understanding, and some experience, in managing facilities is expected. In addition, our ideal candidate will be forward-thinking and creative, and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Most importantly, our new Business Manager must have experience managing a $1M budget, forecasting, grant writing and fundraising in a school setting.

? Proven experience as school business manager or relevant position
? Well-versed in business/budgeting operations
? Knowledge of school-based accounting and finance principles
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Excellent organizational and leadership skills
? Good analytical/critical thinking
? Experience in overseeing the management of the facilities
? BS/BA in business administration, finance or relevant field
? Relevant professional qualification will be an advantage

Requirements ? Preparation of Annual General Fund Budget
? Preparation of Financial Statements for Board of Trustee meetings, including
performance to Budget reports
? Maintain accounting records for all transactions entered into by the Charter
? Prepare reports summarizing the School’s current and forecasted financial
? Manage all Bank Accounts and Investment Accounts
? Prepare payroll and all associated payroll taxes to state and federal agencies
? Prepare all checks for payment
? Manage and prepare employee and charter school payments to PSERS,
PenServ and all related periodic reporting
? Maintain accounts receivables – includes preparation of monthly invoices to
all school districts, booking all receivables and payments.
? Prepare year-end tuition reconciliations for all school districts
? Prepare quarterly returns for Federal taxes, PA Unemployment and PA
Withholding taxes
? Prepare and submit all financial information for PDE reports including
General Fund Budget, Comprehensive Plan, Charter School Annual Report,
Annual Health Reimbursement Report and the Annual Financial Report
? Supply accounting data to CPA firm for Federal tax returns and coordinate the
annual audit and preparation of the Annual Financial Report
? IDEIA special education funds reporting – including execution of annual
contracts, formal requests for services and financial reporting of IDEIA funds
? Oversee facility management, including coordination of
repairs/construction/maintenance of the physical space and equipment

Applicant Qualifications
? A four-year degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field
? A minimum of two years experience in school-based budgeting
