Financial Literacy Instructor
The Financial Literacy Instructor will be responsible for providing the development, implementation, and ongoing oversight of a financial literacy program for adults.
  • Develop and execute a financial literacy skills and enrichment program for adults from culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Perform in-person and virtual instruction activities, including one-on-one tutoring, leading small groups, and teaching specific components of the curriculum.
  • Support the financial literacy program activities by researching new curriculum content, developing, and preparing educational materials.
  • Support and assist with general program improvements.
  • Conduct timely and organized record-keeping, data entry, and file maintenance to support program administration.
  • Make recommendations and provide information/data to supervisor and other administrators for necessary changes within area of responsibility.
  • Assist with the gathering of data for local, state, and federal audit activities.
  • Actively model the mission, values, and operating principles of the MCIU.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Office of Business Services or Office of Human Resources

Requirements Qualifications:
  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree in a financial related concentration
  • Four years of experience delivering financial wellness or financial literacy course content.
  • Demonstrated success with tracking and meeting performance outcomes.
  • Ability to work positively in a team environment and to work effectively with people.
  • Ability to problem solve and use technology to gain information and communicate with others.
  • Ability to schedule time to meet deadlines, to communicate effectively, and to read and analyze written and verbal information.
  • Ability to use computer technology efficiently – proficiency in using all MS Office products.
  • Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI
The Financial Literacy Instructor will be an independent contractor position that will work up to 300 hours annually at an agreed upon competitive hourly rate.  Hours will vary but it would be expected that this position be available mostly during evening hours and weekends.
