Program Supervisor for Montgomery Virtual Program
A vacancy exists for a Program Supervisor - Montgomery Virtual Program with the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit in the Office of Professional Learning.  The Program Supervisor oversees student cyber learning programming within the Office of Professional Learning, including providing leadership and expertise in the areas of online learning, instructional technology, and instructional programming which will improve teaching and learning for all students. The Program Supervisor  will directly supervise staff within OPL as it pertains to the operation of Montgomery Virtual Program, while providing supervisory support to all certified educators in the appropriate certifications. 

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Direct daily operations of assigned cyber learning programs for quality and effectiveness.
  • Monitor program needs, manage workflows, and refine processes involving digital communication and information.
  • Manage all facets of customer service related to assigned programs.
  • Oversee assigned budgets to ensure program expenses are appropriate and do not exceed funding.
  • Support contract negotiation and development to financially assist and promote MCIU or OPL goals.
  • Supervise assigned certified staff as assigned in OPL, including the selection/hiring, transferring/promotions, and evaluations/disciplinary process based on MCIU policies and procedures, certification guidelines, state initiatives, and best practices.
  • Recruit, supervise, and evaluate non-professional employees within the assigned program(s) based on MCIU policies and procedures, state initiatives, and best practices.
  • Represent the MCIU in local, state, and national professional organizations including presenting information relative to PDE, special education, and regular education initiatives as assigned by the Director.
  • Provide training and support to school districts, non-public schools, IU personnel, and parents relative to all related state and federal mandates and MCIU programs.
  • Communicate regularly and collaborate with OPL staff and supervisors, school district administration and staff, non-public school administration and staff, MCIU personnel, and other agencies.
  • Work cooperatively with administration, parents, professionals, paraprofessionals, and support personnel in school districts, agencies, and MCIU programs.
  • Create and follow standard formats related to communication and data collection.
  • Maintain and upgrade professional skills and knowledge through professional growth and development.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Professional Learning.

Requirements  Qualifications:
  • Advanced Degree in education or related field.
  • Valid PA Supervisory Level Certificate in appropriate field of expertise and/or a valid PA Elem or Secondary Principal.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of certified professional experience in appropriate field
  • Expertise (includes one or more of the following):
  • Knowledge of Student Information Systems, Scheduling, Student Data
  • Project Management
  • Team Coaching
  • Responsibility for budget of programs or initiatives
  • Interfaces with Customers and Stakeholders
  • Experience working effectively and cooperatively with administration, parents, and professional and non-professional staff within the educational community.
  • Ability to supervise and work effectively and cooperatively with administrative, professional, and non-professional staff.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology for individual communication and research.
  • Employs good oral and written communication skills; demonstrates good organizational skills.
  • Possesses effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with other teachers, administrators, parents, students, support staff, and outside professional contacts.
  • Qualities of leadership and good communication skills.
  • Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI.
