Network Administrator
  • Responsible for network design and capacity planning.
  • Connect, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot communications software and equipment, network infrastructure and applications.
  • Provide timely and effective resolutions for all network-related problems, inquiries, communication issues, and security breaches.
  • Provide high-level support, troubleshooting, and training on IT matters and problems.
  • Monitors network and respective resources for security breaches, violations, alarms, and utilization.
  • Perform regular network data backup of central file servers. Establish and maintain backup and restoration procedures on respective systems and infrastructure. Ensure functionality of data redundancy and protections through RAID storage and cloud backup solutions.
  • Ensure accurate network asset management and an adequate inventory of spare equipment.
  • Provide and maintain user accounts. Ensure appropriate permissions and access rights are assigned.
  • Maintain open and fluid communication and collaboration with members of the technology team. Orient Technology Department staff and other users on network operations.
  • Maintain records of work performed, problems reported, and inventory of assets by keeping detailed records in the Help Desk and asset management systems.
  • Ensure proper implementation of district standards for legal software usage, virus protection, uniform software configurations, etc. and report any inconsistencies to management.

  • Extensive professional training and/or experience in the installation, configuration, upgrading,  administration, and support of servers, firewalls, switches, routers and routing protocols, WAN connectivity, wireless connectivity, security solutions, backup storage, and backup power systems.
  • Professional training and/or experience in the installation, configuration, upgrading, troubleshooting and support in all or most of the following: Microsoft Windows Server including services such as IIS, DHCP, and DNS, Microsoft Exchange Server, VMware, G Suite administration, Products and solutions from Fortinet, Barracuda, and Meraki, Zabbix or similar network monitoring software, Skyward or similar student information systems.
  • Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and customer service orientation.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or five years experience in the Network Administration field.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a customer service orientation
