Using a combination of curricular content and best-practice sharing, this symposium focuses on ways to maximize revenue from local tax collections. This is always a timely topic, but it is particularly so in a local election year when school boards typically adopt new policies and business offices (should) update collection strategies and ways to deal with collectors.
Participants will learn about legal requirements, limitations, and opportunities relating to:: required board actions; collection rates; delinquent collection; interim billings; tax exemption; tax appeals; rules for collectors; self-collection; maximizing cash flow; internal control; and much more. The day will also include other important and timely tax-related topics.
This workshop is a "must" for every school district, regardless of its tax collection arrangements.
