Learn about the process to migrate a bus fleet to propane fuel. The webcast will review steps, which include the completion of a needs assessment, calculating costs, estimating savings, procurement and implementation. A review of both positive and negative considerations with migrating to propane will be made. The presentation will be delivered by a school district who migrated to an all propane bus fleet in 2016, but began planning in 2015 as a case study. The district continues to operate an all propane bus fleet, which was implemented with grant funding and has yielded significant fuel and operational savings.
Key topics include:
- Considerations in identifying whether you can migrate your bus fleet to propane
- Procurement process for vehicles, fuel infrastructure and fuel
- Timeline and milestones of the implementation process
- Cost savings and source of funding
- Lessons learned
- Sustainability of an all propane bus fleet
