Analyzing Labor Cost Management Strategies*

This session will examine how school districts can properly analyze and evaluate labor costs for effective planning and decision-making during these difficult fiscal times.
A group of specialists on this topic will discuss:

  • Determining and projecting future labor costs
  • Properly analyzing the feasibility of voluntary early retirement/separation incentives
  • Evaluating the need for furloughs and/or layoffs
  • Considering other labor/benefit costs and options
  • Presenting analyses and inform to key stakeholders including Board and labor groups
