PASBO Annual Conference Cancelled
PASBO has been monitoring recent developments related to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19P) in Pennsylvania and the impact on schools. Among other things, Governor Wolf has signed an Emergency Disaster Declaration. Also, PDE and others have cancelled conferences and other large gatherings.
The PASBO Board, in consultation with the executive team, has decided to cancel this year’s annual conference. This decision was not an easy one. Please be assured we made this decision acting in an abundance of caution and also in recognition of the concern and planning that is taking place in schools across our Commonwealth. We are concerned not only about the health and safety of conference attendees but also the potential impact on school districts and others in the event something adverse occurred at the conference. These and other risks made it impossible to proceed with “business as usual” at the annual conference.
