Act 1 Referendum Exceptions

Special Session Act 1 authorizes school districts to seek exceptions to voter referendum when the district’s proposed tax rate increase is above the increase that would be allowed based on the school district’s index. This webcast recording provides an explanation of six of the exceptions that must be submitted to the PA Department of Education and all three of the exceptions that may be submitted to the Court of Common Pleas for approval. (The School Construction referendum exception is covered in a separate CD.)
