ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Conference combines the PASBO Food Service Directors
Conference and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (PDA)
Commodity Show. Food Service Directors get the benefits of both
events in one, saving both time and money. This event is
designed FOR food service professionals BY food service
professionals. You will receive important, relevant tools that
can be used to improve your school food service programs. Don’t
miss this chance to share ideas with your peers, try new
products and renew your enthusiasm for serving the children of
Pennsylvania.

EXHIBITS
Learn about the latest new products, services and solutions for
your food service needs. Over 90 commodity, food product,
beverage, software and equipment vendors will be featured in the
exhibit hall on Tuesday.
Note: All school foodservice staff are invited to attend the
exhibits free of charge. No pre-registration is necessary for
those attending only the exhibits. Registration and payment is
necessary for all education programs.
NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES
Get to know your counterparts from many school districts
throughout the state while enjoying meals, exhibits, a reception
and lively discussions during the educational sessions.
Note: A limited number of interns and students from college food
service related programs will be invited to participate in the
conference. If you know an intern who would like to attend,

Keynote Session: Controversies in Nutrition:
When Myths, Philosophy, and Scientific Evidence Collide
- Dr. Keith Ayoob, Associate Clinical Professor, Department of
Pediatrics, Albert Einstein College of Medicine
Parents get their nutrition information from sources that aren't
always reliable or balanced. Many of their beliefs are far from
"evidence-based" and often reflect popular culture, which can create
problems when forming nutrition policy. Dr. Ayoob will discuss
several controversial nutrition issues: artificial colors, sugar,
sugar substitutes, and flavored milk during this presentation, with
ample time for questions and answers. |
